is the ax15 tranny compatable with the newer tjs. a buddy of mine is home on leave for exodus and his tranny blew out the 02 needs np threee something or other but we can only get ahold of ax's, anyone know if these will bolt up?

A 4.0 is a 4.0L as far as I know, so it should bolt up, but not sure what all electronically is needed to start/run an '02. Does it have a 4.0L manual currently?

yup, but the hd manual, i know they will bolt up but dont know about the splines on the t case

Can you find out the input / output spline count at work?
But... the input shaft depth/length may also be different...

i ran a vin inquiry on dealerconnect. everything looks interchangable, we are gi ving it a try.
